Smith Prayer & Praise - February 2007

*Click below for some February 2007 prayer items.

"Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." Psalm 51:7

As we saw snow fall here today and make all the fields around us white, we were reminded of this magnificent truth again. How beautiful it is to be washed by the blood of the Lamb! Here are a few prayer items for this month of February. You can also visit our website to see a further update and pictures.

~ We praise God for the classes that Bryan is currently able to take at Lancaster Bible College Graduate School. God has provided in an incredible way for the tuition cost, and we believe that the classes will be beneficial for our ministry.
~ We praise God for continuing to provide the monthly support that we need to raise before we head back to Mexico in July. He has provided for about 60% of what we hope to raise while here.
~ Please pray for a trip to Michigan coming up February 16-19. We plan to minister at Merson Church in Allegan, MI, as well as visit with some of our individual supporters along the way.
~ Please pray for Frank, a Mexican man that Bryan has had an opportunity to share Christ with. Pray that he would open his heart to God, and trust in Christ alone as his Savior.
~ Please pray for Dinorah, a young woman from our church in Mexico who is currently on the Logos II ministry ship of Operation Mobilization. Pray that God would use her greatly for His glory, and continue to mold her into who He wants her to be through this ministry. You can read more about her and this ministry on our website at http://www.smithconnection.com/2007/02/om_ship_ministry.html.

Thanks for standing with us in your prayers!

OM Ship Ministry

Dinorah, from our church in Mexico, is serving the Lord on a ship. See pictures and read more about her ministry...

Dinorah, a young lady from our New Birth Bible Church in Mexico, has been on the Logos II Operation Mobilization ship since September last year. The ship moves around from port to port all over the world and ministers to people on board and on land. She is having some incredible experiences! In a recent e-mail to us she said, "I’m enjoying my days in every port !!! All of this is just amazing !!! Lori…. Do you remember when I told you my idea to start to pray for these ships? Every day God reminds me : Dinorah I am always faithful !!! I think I could never cease to say thanks to Him. I’m in North Africa and it has been such great experience." We are exited about this opportunity that God has given her to serve Him! She plans to be on the ship for a two year term. Please pray for her as she serves and grows!

FAMILY

We enjoyed New Years Day with Lori's parents and sister, Cheryl, and her husband, Chris. We were at Larry and Sally Martins place where Lori's parents were staying on their Home Assignment time. Larry is an avid hunter and has quite the trophy room!

The Miller family moved into the other part of the farmhouse we rent, and onto the farm with their dairy operation at the beginning of January. We are enjoying all the sights, experiences, AND smells of living on a working farm! Bryan and Ben have even gotten to help with various chores around the farm on a few occasions, and we are being spoiled with FRESH farm milk!

The kids love helping take care of Emma! She is with us four days a week while her parents are at work.

We have been blessed with free dental work for Kendra and Tara provided by the Brush. Brush. Smile! Bus. Speaking of which, Tara just officially lost her first tooth! (You may recall that she had lost two previously in an accident)

The Nevin family stopped in for a visit. They are coworkers of Bryan's parents in Texcoco, Mexico. Ben especially enjoyed having some boys around to play with!

A beautiful sunset sky that we enjoyed recenty. We have not gotten much snow yet. Shown here is the most we have gotten. We are still waiting for the big one!

MINISTRY

The Pioneer Club program on Wednesday evenings at Calvary Bible Church has been fun. One of the neat things recently was when Bryan's co-teacher, Earl, brought in his pet snake to show the kids! They especially enjoyed watching him feed her!

We took care of Mitchel and Natalia while their parents, friends from church, took a trip to investigate their future involvement in missions.
