Thanks so much for your continued prayers for us. Here are a few requests to remember in this month of October:

- We praise the Lord for the men's retreat Bryan was able to attend, and the women's seminar that Lori attended. Both were a blessing.
- We praise Him for a good start in our Pioneer Clubs ministry at our home church
- We praise the Lord that the kids continue to do well in their adjustment to school and life in general here.

- Please pray for Antonio, a believer from the Dominican Republic that God has brought in to our lives. Pray that Bryan would have wisdom in knowing how to encourage him. See more about him on our October photo page: http://www.smithconnection.com/2006/10/photos_october_2006_1.html
- Please pray for a missions conference that we will be speaking at later this month at Grace Bible Chapel in Gardners, PA
- Please pray for Lori's sister, Lisa, and her husband, Eric, as they make plans to serve the Lord in Guatemala. They, with their two children, will be traveling up from AZ and staying with us later this month. Among other things, they plan to have an open house here in PA to share more about their missions plans.
- Please pray for Lori's parents who will be traveling up from Guatemala later this month for a time of home assignment here in PA.
- Please keep the New Birth Bible Church in Queretaro, Mexico in your prayers as they move forward in their ministries in our absence. Please pray for unity and growth.

We appreciate your intersesion on our behalf!

In Christ's Love,
Bryan, Lori, Kendra, Tara, & Ben

FAMILY

Kendra, Tara, & Ben enjoying a four-wheeler ride with Jeff Aungst, and his daughter, Faith

On Labor day we enjoyed spending some time with Lori's sister, Cheryl, and her husband, Chris

Later in the evening we enjoyed a neighborhood Labor Day picnic with our landlords, Jeff & Rose Aungst

We are trying to find ways to keep Ben busy while the girls are at school. He has recently started enjoy playing games on the computer, and he does like playing outside as well.

We enjoyed getting together with Lori's Uncle John & Aunt Esther, and their son, Timm, and his family. The barrel cart rides were a big hit with the kids!

We enjoyed doing some things as a family on September 16, including going to "That Fish Place" where the kids got to see all kinds of fish, and even touch some, and seeing the old Wenger Mill covered bridge near where Lori's dad grew up.

While Lori went to the women's seminar, Bryan stayed with the kids and rode bikes and played Jr. Monopoly, among other things

On September 30 we went to a Fall Festival that a local church was holding. The kids decorated some pumpkins, and we got a kit to make a scarecrow, which we made the following day. The kids named him "Farmer Dan" It's fun to be a part of Fall activities again!

MINISTRY

We have enjoyed getting together with our friends and supporters throughout the month

We are involved in helping with the Pioneer Club program at our church. On September 20 we kicked the club off for the year with a Mexican Fiesta. We were in charge of the snack station. We made some yummy Mexican hot chocolate, sweet bread, and tostadas. On a weekly basis we are teaching the 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls. Also pictured above are each of our kids groups, as well as the groups we teach.

On September 22-24 Bryan went on a men's retreat with 20 men from our church. The setting was the Ponderosa Lodge in the beautiful mountains of PA. It was a great time of fellowship, and nourishment from God's Word. Among the other activities Bryan did some shooting, and took an airplane ride. He also helped lead the times of worship.

The Lord has brought Antonio from the Dominican Republic into our path. He is living on a farm down the road from our house, and doing work in the area. He is a believer, but has been in need of some encouragement and help, and Bryan has been able to spend some time with him and pray with him. He has also made us some fantastic Dominican meals! Please pray for Antonio, that he would sense the Lord's direction in his life. He comes from a rough past, but God has done, and is doing, some neat things in his life.
